Judge Amul Thapar Speaks to NDLS Students on Constitution Day

Judge Amul Thapar of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky spoke to a packed audience of students and faculty at Notre Dame Law School on September 16, in celebration of Constitution Day.

Judge Thapar addressed the challenges of applying the First Amendment to restrictions on speech in the context of judicial elections.

During his visit Judge Thapar was the James J. Clynes, Jr. Visiting Chair in the Ethics of Litigation Within the Judicial Process. The lecture was sponsored by the NDLS Program on Constitutional Structure and the Potenziani Program in Constitutional Studies.
